Re efficiency, electrolysis can be powered by solar power ,which is free ,to fuel the conspiracy debate.

The main thing halting independent companies getting this out is hydrides. If hydrides were legal to buy then the entirety of the automobile industry could run ,close to free ,using solar power and wind turbines. But apparently they can be used to create very bad weapons if you have a good volume of them.

Simple thing would be to regulate their distribution but apparently thats too dangerous. Which is rubbish. Simple fact is that if this technology came out, the oil companies would have a problem. Our government pensions invest heavily in oil, as do many world economies ,so if they struggle, we all struggle. Ultimately free isnt free in the minds of government and greed so these sort of things will always take ages to come out.

Check out unitednuclear.com's hydrogen car site if you dont believe me ,they've done it and explain how in clear English.

Further proof? Look up Tesla. In 1896 he had completely designed and started to build a way to send free ,wireless electricity to the whole world. Once the investors found they couldnt charge for it, the funding was pulled and he died poor.

Our entire world is run by greed. If it wasnt for greed we'd already be living in the 28th century.

Thank you people in power, thank you government, thank you people who dont do anything about this. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Unfortunately, you did not cover the "not efficient enough" topic of hydrogen vehicles. The energy derived from the electrolysis of water is less than you must put into the system (electricity from the power grid).

So if you have to plug in your car at night to electrolyze the water, why not just charge up a battery and eliminate the need for a internal combustion engine? This would be intuitively much more efficient given that you are not going through inefficient processes to derive mechanical energy.
